What happens to all those pictures we take with our smartphones? Technology has presented us with a gift of being able to capture anything, even if we do not know the basics of photography. But, have we gotten good at keeping the moments that are important to us or do they just disappear in the sea of snappy pretentious shots we post on social media?
I cannot say that I have mastered photography yet, but I am slowly working on it. For me, photography is a mindfulness exercise. You have to be present to take a picture. You have to think about things that are beyond you — such as light, subject, movement, focus, the story around it, etc.
